Jerico is an ethical Canadian manufacturer committed to creating high-quality, sustainable apparel.

Founded in 1987 by two brothers and two sisters, Jerico began as a family business in a thriving textile industry. In those early days, knitting machines ran continuously, dyeing operations operated in consecutive shifts, and sewing struggled to keep up with growing demand. At its peak, Canadian-made products accounted for 70% of domestic textile needs.

However, in 2001, the lifting of import quotas flooded the market with low-cost imports, putting immense pressure on Canadian manufacturers to lower prices and outsource production. While many chose the path of cheaper labor overseas, Jerico made a different decision. We refused to participate in the exploitation of foreign workers or the environmental degradation that often accompanies outsourcing. Instead, we doubled down on our values—believing in the strength of Canadian labor, ethical manufacturing, and the importance of environmental stewardship.

Today, Jerico proudly manufactures all of its products right here in Canada. We knit, dye, cut and sew on Canadian soil. We are dedicated to maintaining fair wages, safe working conditions, and fostering a culture of collaboration. Our employees are more than workers—they are partners in our success, and together, we create products we can stand behind with pride.

But our commitment doesn’t stop with people — it extends to the planet, too. By keeping production domestic, we drastically reduce our carbon footprint and ensure our dyeing processes are safe and responsible. We are proud that these choices contribute to a more sustainable future. Most importantly, many Jerico’s garments are crafted with environmentally friendly fibers, ensuring that sustainability is woven into every piece we create.

Keeping production in Canada is a challenge. The pressures to outsource are real, and competition is manifold. But for us, it’s not about making the easy choice – it’s about making the right choice. Jerico is 100% Canadian-made and unwavering in our commitment to ethical practices, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
